Both of these songs have, for several years, been on a short list of songs I wanted to cover. In the fall of 2011 I chose these two from that list to record, and believe it or not, I didn’t notice the “morning/night” symmetry until after I’d decided on them.

"Morning of My Life" is a Bee Gees song (written by Barry Gibb). "Nightime" is a Big Star song (written by Alex Chilton).
